Healing the Heart and Mind: A Journey of Acceptance and Inner Peace

Dear Stranger,

I know how exhausting recovery can be at some point. Healing seems like a ridiculous idea when you don’t know exactly what will improve or if improvement is even achievable. Around the time I tried my hand at meditation, which I never been interested in before, the concept was to find inner peace to lead to pure happiness. Meditation helps rid the mind of delusions causing unnecessary stresses in your life.

Going to one meditation class a week will not fix all your worries, nor will 10 minutes of meditation each day. If you practice and make it a priority, you will feel more centered than before. Healing is not an overnight process. We need to keep patience and believe in ourselves.

Multifaceted Ways to Heal Yourself

There are so many ways and things out there to help us better ourselves and feel happy. Here are some that can be incredibly beneficial:

MUSIC: Listening to music can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and even aid in healing. PRAYER: Praying can provide comfort, guidance, and a sense of connection, which can be vital during challenging times. TRAVELLING: Exploring new places can broaden our perspectives and bring us joy. ADMIRING NATURE: Spending time in nature can help us reconnect with the world and our inner selves, providing a sense of perspective and peace. READING BOOKS: Reading can be a great stress reliever and provide insights and inspiration.

So go on, get off your butt and go seek these out. The possibilities truly are endless.

The Core of Lasting Healing: Acceptance

Acceptance is the core of lasting healing, especially for the self. This doesn’t mean condoning anything. It just means accepting it as it is without labels. Some things cannot be understood until they are experienced. Without darkness, light cannot exist. One is needed for the other to have the meaning of existence.

For me, I have memories of a past life as a court torturer. I did horrible things in that life and enjoyed it. Being a healer in this life, coming to terms with the fact that I could do such things without remorse was very difficult, even though it was a past life and has nothing to do with this life. Even having memories of having been the one tortured in a different life didn’t make it any easier to accept. However, both are a part of me.

The Need for Understanding and Compassion

Knowing I’m capable of doing such things but choose not to is a testament to my growth. Having experienced lives with both, I can understand both. All experiences are necessary for a soul to grow. By experiencing things and accepting those experiences as they are, we gain understanding.

This understanding allows our capacity for compassion to grow. Sometimes to come to that acceptance, a change in perspective is necessary. It can also necessitate being aware of multiple perspectives. Sometimes, we have experiences not necessarily for ourselves but for others. We do this because our soul knows we’re strong enough to experience it without being destroyed by it. We facilitate others being able to have the experience they need in order to grow. However, this doesn’t mean you should let people walk all over or hurt you. Everyone has their own path and life journey. We all must be responsible for our own actions or inactions and the consequences of such.

Conclusion

When our path diverges from those of a loved one, it doesn’t mean we love them any less. It just means that the paths needed to let our souls grow.

Healing and acceptance are continuous journeys. By embracing them, we can find peace and happiness within ourselves and our lives.
