While self-healing is crucial, seeking professional help is equally important. A psychologist who understood DP/DR would have been a significant support throughout my journey. However, navigating the search for a therapist who grasped my condition took time. Avoiding therapy for a decade due to the misconception that no one could help, I eventually found a therapist who was knowledgeable about DP/DR. It's essential to find a support system that understands and validates your experience, as feeling understood and supported can greatly aid your healing process.

As someone who has navigated through DP/DR, I offer a few more tips for holistic healing:

Avoid stress and illusions of control: Embracing the acceptance of things as they are can significantly alleviate DP/DR symptoms.

My experience has taught me that while DP/DR is a terrifying and isolating condition, it also offers an opportunity for profound personal growth. By addressing the root causes of anxiety and trauma, and by living in alignment with oneself, one can navigate through these challenges with greater ease and resilience.
